Effective Wednesday, August 26, 2015, the National Works Agency (NWA) will be closing Barbican Way in St. Andrew, located adjacent to the Fontana Pharmacy in Barbican.
Closure of the roadway is to facilitate demolition of a Box Culvert and construction of a new structure. Funding for the new structure is allocated under the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing 2015/2016 recurrent budget and is for an amount of $12 million.
The roadway will be closed for four (4) months and is scheduled to be reopened in December 2015.
The NWA is advising motorists and pedestrians to choose suitable alternative routes during the period of closure and obey all posted warning signs.
