The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians that effective Wednesday, August 15, 2012, the Fontabelle main road in St. Mary, leading from the old Petrol Station will be closed for three weeks.

This temporary closure is to facilitate the replacement of a defective bridge in the community. The old structure is being replaced with a Single Lane Compact 200 Bridge, 50 feet in length. Gabion Protective works will also be done.

The alternative route during the period of closure for motorists travelling from the direction of Oracabessa towards Crescent is, left at the old petrol station in Fontabelle, then first right onto the Free Hill road, then right to Geddes Town, then onto Crescent. The reverse obtains for motorists travelling from the direction of Crescent towards Oracabessa.

The NWA is advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
