Several roadways in the parish of Manchester are slated to be targeted for improvement work by the National Works Agency (NWA), over the next few weeks. The NWA has commenced a new round of patching in the parish, valued at nine million dollars.

Community Relations Officer of the NWA’s Central Region, Howard Hendriks says under the programme approximately 4,400 square meters of roadways will be targeted.

He says that among the road sections that will be fixed are Williamsfield to Mile Gully, Alston to Christiana, Devon to Mallison, Lambert to Craighead, Walderston to Grantham and Kendal to Clarks Town.

The programme is being financed through the Jamaica Development Infrastructure Programme (JDIP). Under the JDIP, work has also been embarked on the roads from Devon to Skull Point and Dump to Highgate Hall. Both corridors are being rehabilitated using the Micro-surfacing technology.
