The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising the public that a section of the Nolan Hill to Border roadway in St. Andrew will be closed this weekend. The closure, which will be in the district of Mount Ogle, is to facilitate repairs of a section of the roadway that had failed.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that the closure will be from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, to  4:00 pm on Sunday. During the closure, works will be undertaken to remove  a plastic culvert, which was damaged during a recent bush fire. The road subsequently failed and had to be closed for two days. The damaged culvert will be replaced by a 900 millimeters concrete culvert.

Resulting from the closure, motorists travelling from the direction of Mount Ogle towards Lawrence Tavern are being advised to  use Ambug Lane, then onto Glengoffe Road and continue to Lawrence Tavern. The reverse will obtain for persons travelling from Lawrence Tavern.

Mr. Shaw says that this route will only be passable to operators of small vehicles. Operators of large buses and trucks are being urged to delay travelling between Mount Ogle and Lawrence Tavern until after the main road is reopened.

Motorists are being advised to obey the instructions of the flag persons and posted warning signs.
