Papine to Bull Bay Main Road now Impassable, Golden Spring to Mount Airy Main Road Reduced to Single Lane

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that large boulders are now blocking the Papine to Bull Bay main road, St. Andrew, in the vicinity of Caines River. This blockage is the result of heavy rainfall in the area during the past twenty four hours.

There is no alternative route; however residents of Bull Bay and Staverly Park should use the Bull Bay end of the corridor. Residents who reside beyond the Woodward Bailey Bridge should use the route from Papine via Dallas then onto Staverly Park.

The NWA will be dispatching heavy equipment along with personnel to the area to have the boulders removed and the roadway cleared.

In the meantime the NWA is also advising that the Golden Spring to Mount Airy main road in St. Andrew, just outside Mount Airy Square has been reduced to single lane. This is the result of a breakaway caused by heavy rainfall in the area and constant water flow from a nearby reservoir.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to proceed with care and obey posted warning signs.
