The National Works Agency (NWA) is reporting that roadways in St. Andrew, that were yesterday rendered impassable following rains on the weekend, are now opened to at least single lane vehicular traffic. Teams from the NWA had been kept busy in the parish since Sunday night, however four corridors remained blocked up to this morning. These were the roads through the communities of Content, Dallas Castle, Newcastle and Flamstead.

Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that an additional road became impassable overnight. Landslides have caused the road from Rock Hall to Parks Road to be impassable at this time.

Mr. Shaw says that work is now underway to get access from Rock Hall to Parks Road. It is the intention of the NWA to regain access along the corridor before the end of this evening.

In the meantime, the section of Half Way Tree Road, in the vicinity of Retirement Road, that caused delays this morning has been reinstated. Works are underway along Constant Spring Road, in the vicinity of Tru Value and same is expected to be reinstated before peak hour traffic.

The NWA is advising motorists to exercise caution while traversing these areas.
