Temporary Closure of May Pen Bridge, Clarendon

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians that the May Pen Rail Bridge, located along Main Street in Clarendon, will be temporarily closed between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7 p.m. this Wednesday, February 22, 2012.

This temporary closure is to facilitate repairs to structural defects on the bridge.

Motorists travelling from the direction of Mineral’s Heights, Clarendon Park or Palmer’s Cross towards the town centre should use the alternative route via the Bustamante Highway, Glenmuir Road, Anderson Drive then onto Manchester or Sharpe Avenues. The reverse obtains for motorists travelling from the town centre in the direction of Mineral’s Heights, Clarendon Park or Palmer’s Cross.  

The NWA is also advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
