The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising the public that a section of West Street in Port Antonio, Portland, in the vicinity of the KFC restaurant, will be closed on Sunday, August 28, 2011 between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

This closure is to facilitate the replacement of a damaged culvert, as part of the NWA’s 2011 Flood Damage Mitigation programme.

During the period of closure, motorists entering the town centre from the direction of Boundbrook will turn right onto Hospital Road, then left onto Portland Road, left to Bonnyview Road then onto Harbour Street. The reverse obtains for motorists entering Port Antonio from Folly Road.

The NWA is asking motorists to proceed with caution while traversing the area and to obey the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
