The Clarks Town to Hyde roadway in Trelawny is now undergoing major repairs. This latest repair effort is being undertaken by the National Works Agency (NWA), through a $18.8 million road improvement contract.
Community Relations Officer at the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says that the project targets approximately 340 metres of the roadway, in the vicinity of Greenhouse Farms. Ms. Ricketts says the project involves significant drainage improvement works and the reshaping and asphalting of the targeted section of the roadway using Asphaltic Concrete.
This project is being undertaken through the Government of Jamaica’s (GOJ’s) Islandwide Repair to Scoured and Damaged Roadwys. The project, which began in January 2024, is expected to be completed in May 2024.
