Motorists using the main road between Georgia and Broad Gate (Junction Road) in St. Mary are being advised to be careful, as the landslide near the community of Georgia is again unstable and has reduced the road to single lane.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency. Stephen Shaw says heavy rains in the area today have again resulted in significant movement of the hillside.
Mr. Shaw says a team from the Agency is now in the area monitoring the situation. Drivers of small vehicles are being advised to be particularly careful, as the mudslide has resulted in the driving surface become difficult to traverse.

The landslide at Georgia occurred late last year. The NWA is now completing the design phase of a major project to rehabilitate the 18 kilometer stretch from Toms River to Aqualtavale. The agency intends to have the problem at Georgia corrected as part of this effort.
