The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the main road between Stony Hill and Parks Road in St. Andrew, has been reopened to all vehicles.

The roadway was closed to large vehicles in November last year in the community of Cavaliers following the deterioration of a breakaway that had occurred during the passage of Tropical Storm Gustav in August last year.

The roadway was temporarily closed for use by large vehicles to facilitate the construction of a retaining wall, as its drivable width was reduced.

The construction of the retaining wall was carried out through a 9.7 million dollar contract and formed part of a 1.4 billion dollar programme of works that is being implemented islandwide.

Motorists who use this section of roadway are advised to proceed with caution. The roadway while drivable is not fully restored as it needs to be repaired.
