Commencing at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, a section of Duhaney Drive in the community of Duhaney Park in Kingston will be closed.
The closure, which is to facilitate the replacement of drainage gratings, will be in effect for ten (10) days.
The targeted location is the grating just below Waterhouse Drive. Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency (NWA), Stephen Shaw says that the closure is necessary as the drain spans the entire width of the roadway. He says that the works will include the removal of the existing drainage infrastructure, concrete works and the installation of new gratings.
During the period of closure, motorists heading towards Perkins Boulevard from the direction of Washington Boulevard can use Baldwin Cresent.
Another route from Duhaney Drive is to turn right onto Waterhouse Drive, left onto Sherlock Crescent and then turn right onto Abberville Avenue.
For either alternative route the reverse can be used for persons coming from the direction of Abberville Avenue.
The NWA further advises motorists to exercise caution while using the roadway during the period of the works and observe the instructions of flag persons and posted signs.
