Fern Gully roadway to be rehabilitated

The Fern Gully roadway in Ocho Rios, St. Ann is to be rehabilitated. A contract valued at just over 123 million dollars was on Tuesday (February 10) signed for the works to be undertaken. The contract was one of seven that were signed and valued at over 501 million dollars.

The Fern Gully main road was in April 2008 damaged, resulting from heavy rains that also flooded sections of Ocho Rios. Other contracts were for:

  • U Drain at Ardenne High School in the amount of $23,742,454.61. Contractor for this project is Gabion and Structures Company Limited
  • Roadway from Walderston to Contrivance in Manchester in the amount of $29,817,230.31. Contractor for the Project is CAB Construction Ltd.
  • Wickham Road, St. Andrew in the amount of $29,329,575.00. Contractor here is LASCAR Fencing and Construction Limited.
  • Roadways from Guys Hill – Windsor Castle, Gayle – Dressikie Union Hill, Barclay’s Town Road, Windsor Castle – Wood Park , Heartlands Culvert & Road and Bagnal Road in St. Mary in the sum of $99,774,090.41. Contractor here is Dwight’s Construction Company Ltd.
  • River Training at Laughlands, St. Ann. Contract to be executed by Morris Hill in the amount of $9,934,059.00.
  • The Main road from Gutters to Freetown in St. Catherine in the amount of $141,030,380.18. This falls under package 1 of the Road Resurfacing Programme. The contractor here is Pavement and Structures Ltd

The Construction of re-inforced concrete wall and gully invert at Shortwood Drive in St. Andrew. This is part of the Emergency Repairs to Gully Network Tropical Storm Gustav Programme.
