The National Works Agency (NWA) has commenced a nine million dollar retaining wall programme along the St. Ann’s Bay to Greenwich Park main road in St. Ann. Several sections of this corridor has broken-away, resulting from heavy rainfall over the past two months.

Under the programme, three Gabion retaining walls will be constructed at different points along the roadway. The projects are expected to be completed in two months.

In the meantime, the NWA has commenced another round of hot mix patching in the parish of Portland. The new programme will see sections of West Palm Avenue and West Street in Port Antonio being patched. The programme is a collaborative effort between the NWA and the National Water Commission (NWC) to restore sections of the roadways that had been dug up by the water provider to repair leaks.  Under this programme 800 square metres of roadway will be targeted. Works are expected to last for three weeks.
