The Junction main road in St. Mary is now impassable. The National Works Agency (NWA) is reporting that the roadway is blocked by a massive landslide in the community of Friendship Gap. The roadway has also been reduced to single lane access in Content District. The NWA has dispatched a team to the areas to have the roadway cleared.

Five other roadways remain impassable including the Bog Walk Gorge main road in St. Catherine. The NWA is advising that the Gorge will remain closed at least until tomorrow, as a section of the roadway has been damaged. The roadway has been damaged by floodwaters in an area that was left exposed, following excavation work by the National Water Commission. Repair work is now underway on the corridor, with a view to having it reopened tomorrow.

Other roadways that are impassable are the main road from Mount Airy to Coakley, the Mount Zion parochial road and the Kintyre Ford all in St. Andrew. The Ford at Mahagony Vale in St. Thomas is also still impassable.
The NWA has reopened to single lane access, 16 of 30 roadways that have been affected by the inclement weather. Eight roadways have been completely re-opened to vehicular access.
The Agency is reminding persons using some corridors in St. Andrew and St. Thomas to exercise caution in using the roadways. These include the main roads from Golden Spring to Mount Airy and Stony Hill to Parks Road in St. Andrew. Both corridors are only open to single lane access in sections and are highly susceptible to landslides. The Mount Sinai Loop Road in St. Thomas is also inundated. Operators of small vehicles are being advised not to attempt to use this corridor.
