The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that access onto Acadia Drive from Barbican Road in St. Andrew will be restricted for a 9-hour period starting at 9 p.m. today, Thursday, May 2, 2019. According to Communication and Customer Services Manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, the restriction is to facilitate the installation of a sewer main across the Acadia Drive entrance. The pipe-laying work, he explains, is a critical component of the extended road improvement project currently being implemented along Barbican Road between Garth Road and Acadia Drive. To access Acadia Drive during the period of works, motorists may continue along Barbican Road to Grants Pen and Shortwood Roads and thereafter use Roseberry Drive to get onto Acadia Drive. The reverse obtains for motorists travelling in the opposite direction. The works should be completed by 6 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, May 3.
