NWA advises caution

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that heavy rains in St. Thomas during the past 24 hours have resulted in landslips and scouring along the Bath to Barrett’s Gap and the Windsor Forest to Mahogany Vale main roads.

The Bath to Barrett’s Gap main road is impassable to small vehicles between Mile Posts 2 and 3. The alternate route for motorists travelling to or from these communities is through Beacon Hill.

Motorists traveling along the Windsor Forest to Mahogany Vale main road are being advised to do so with caution, as the road surface is slippery.

The NWA has mobilized its work crews to carry out work on these corridors. The works will commence as soon as the weather subsides.
