The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that a section of the Muirton to Fair Prospect main road in Portland has been reduced to single lane access, as a result of a break-away. The roadway has broken away in the vicinity of the corner, referred to as See-Me-No-More.

The NWA has posted warning signs in the vicinity of the breakaway and is advising motorists to heed the signs and exercise extreme caution on this section of roadway.

In the meantime, the NWA is reminding motorists that the main road from Richmond to Rose Hill in St. Mary is opened to single lane access only and should not be used by heavy duty vehicles. A section of the roadway broke away during heavy rains in early October. Heavy rains in the parish over the last week have worsened the situation.

Motorists are also being reminded to obey the warning signs that have been posted in the area.
