Effective immediately the main road between Green Island and Silver Spring in Hanover is closed to heavy duty vehicles, such as trucks and trailers. The roadway has been closed by the National Works Agency (NWA) to these vehicles, due to defects that have appeared on the Green Island Bridge that that links the two communities.
Operators of large vehicles wishing to travel to the community of Silver Spring from Green Island are being advised to use the route through Logwood. These motorists will travel from Orange Bay, to Logwood, through the community of Santoy, then to Silver Spring. The reverse obtains for heavy duty vehicles travelling from Silver Spring towards Green Island.
