The National Works Agency (NWA) has advanced works on a $39 – million works programme, targeting three road sections in the parish of St. Catherine. The targeted corridors are Hudson Farm to Cudjoe Hill in the Worthy Park area; Main Street in Old Harbour Bay, and Bonnet Road in the Guys Hill community.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency (NWA), Stephen Shaw says the repairs are being done under separate contracts and will see an overhaul of the driving surface of the selected roadways. He says a total of 11,050 square metres of the corridors will be sheet patched, while other sections will be targeted for pothole patch and repair.

The projects which commenced in April are all over 90% completed and are expected to be completed by the end of this month.

The works form part of efforts by the Government of Jamaica (GoJ) to repair damaged roadways across the island.
