The National Works Agency (NWA) today commenced a new work programme through which a number of road sections in Kingston, St. Andrew and St. Catherine, which have been steadily deteriorating over the past several months, will be repaired.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says the programme which is valued at approximately 20 million dollars, will see some 36 roads being repaired with Asphatic Concrete, over the next six weeks. He says activities commenced today with patching being undertaken on Hagley Park, Constant Spring and Red Hills Roads in St. Andrew. Other roads targeted for repairs under this programme include:-

Mr. Shaw says this patching programme is the first phase of a larger programme of pothole repair works being financed by the Road Maintenance Fund and scheduled to be undertaken across the island.
Meanwhile, the NWA advises motorists to proceed with caution and observe the instructions of flag persons and/or warning signs during the period of works being carried out in the corporate area.
