NWA Introduces Traffic Changes in Santa Cruz St. Elizabeth for the Christmas Season

On Monday December 8, the National Works Agency (NWA) introduced changes to traffic arrangement in the town of Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth. A temporary one-way system came into effect. This will operate between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday’s to Saturday’s until Monday January 5, 2009. On Sunday’s the roadways will revert to two-way usage.

The NWA says, the roadways which are to be converted to one-way usage are as follows:

  • Main Street is converted to One-Way west bound between Total Service Station/St. Elizabeth Technical High School and the western end of the Santa Cruz Bypass by Marifest House.
  • Market Street is converted to One-Way north bound.
  • Intersection Drive is One-Way south bound, between the Fire Station and the Town Clock.

Motorists are advised to obey and be guided by posted warning signs as well as the instructions of the Police.

The NWA says this temporary one-way system and restrictions are part of the NWA’s traffic management thrust to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow in the town of Santa Cruz during the Christmas period.
