NWA Reopens the Spalding's to Cave Valley Main Road to Single Lane

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the Spalding’s to Cave Valley main road in Clarendon, which was blocked in the vicinity of the Aenon Town Bridge and the ‘Blue Marl’ Coffee Factory has been reopened to single-lane traffic.

An NWA contractor was dispatched to the area where the blockage occurred late yesterday evening and cleared a section of the roadway. Barring further rainfall, the NWA expects to have the roadway fully cleared by late this afternoon.

Flooding and the build up of silt and debris on the roadway were caused by heavy rainfall in the area during the past twelve hours and this resulted in the Alston River over flowing its banks onto the main road.

Motorists who use this corridor should proceed with caution as the roadway is still slippery.
