The National Works Agency (NWA) is currently undertaking another round of patching activities on several roadways in the northeastern parishes of Portland, St. Thomas, and St. Ann. The works form part of a five million United States dollars island-wide programme and is targeting approximately 5,000 square metres of roadways. The first phase of this programme was completed last December.

Under the current phase of the works, 9.2 million Jamaican dollars will be spent on selected roads in the three parishes over the next four (4) weeks. The corridors are being patched with Asphaltic Concrete.

Major thoroughfares, such as the corridor from Morant Bay to Port Morant in St. Thomas; the roadway from Folly to Fair Prospect in Portland and the stretch from Alexandria to Grenock Bridge in St. Ann have already benefited under the programme.
