The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists, especially operators of heavy vehicles, who use the Temple Hall roadway in St. Andrew to proceed with extreme caution. This, as heavy rainfall in recent days has caused further deterioration of a breakaway which developed along the corridor during the passage of Hurricane Gustav.

The roadway was damaged by flood waters and reduced to single lane usage between Mile Post 12&13.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says emergency work to rebuild the damaged roadway got underway yesterday. He says that this involves redirecting the channel of the river and construction of a Gabion retaining wall.

Motorists are advised to obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
