The NWA Urges Caution in the use of a section of the Ironshore main road in St. James

Road users traversing the Ironshore main road in St. James are being urged to exercise extreme caution at this time. Persons are being advised to be particularly careful in using the intersection at Providence. This, as the traffic signal that regulates the flow of traffic at this intersection is now out of commission.     Community Relations Officer for the National Works Agency’s (NWA), Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says that there was significant damage to the hardware of the traffic signals, due to a motor vehicle accident. This has rendered the system inoperable, and the NWA team is working to have the issue resolved in the shortest possible time.   In the interim, road users are being reminded that when the traffic signals are out of service, no one has the right of way. Caution should therefore be taken in navigating this intersection, as well as other intersections where traffic signals are out of service.
