Several roadways in the Northeastern parishes of Portland and St. Mary continue to be affected by landslides, scoured surfaces and blocked drains, resulting from heavy rains over the past 72 hours.

In Portland, the roadways from Buff Bay to Balcaress, Buff Bay to White Hall, Tranquility to Bangor Ridge and Hope Bay to Chips Hall, which were impassable earlier today, have been reopened to single lane access. The corridors were earlier blocked in multiple locations by massive landslides, but have been reopened by teams from the National Works Agency (NWA).

In Eastern Portland, motorists are also being advised to exercise caution along the roadways from Hectors River to Muirton and Muirton to Haining as the corridors are being affected by heavy siltation, blocked drains and severe scouring. The main road from Windsor to Moore Town has been badly scoured in the community of Seamans Valley, while the corridor from Chips Hall to Durham Gap is being affected by blocked drains in the community of Fruitfulvale.

In St. Mary, the Junction road continues to be opened to single lane access in the community of Georgia. Extreme caution is being advised in using this roadway. Elewhere in the parish, the corridor from Evondale to Iterborale, near the community of Enfield is impassable. Several corridors are also being affected by scoured surfaces. These include the roadways from Claremont to White Hall, Rio Nuevo to Lambkin Hill, Retreat to Content, Toms River to Broadgate and Port Maria to Islington.
