The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that the traffic signals at Providence Road and its intersection with the Elegant Corridor is now out of commission, due to issues related to damaged hardware.

Community Relations Officer at the NWA, Janel Ricketts, says that earlier this week there were voltage issues with this particular light. These issues were resolved and the traffic signal was brought back into operation. However, the voltage problems have recurred, causing extensive damage to the traffic control cabinet and subsequent malfunction of the lights.

Ms. Ricketts says the NWA team is working to have the traffic signal repaired in short order.

In the interim, motorists are being reminded that when traffic lights are out of service, no one has the right of way.  As a result, all motorists should exercise due care when using this intersection.
