SPANISH TOWN, St Catherine - Local government officials are working on a proposal to fix problems with the dangerous Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine which becomes a death trap for motorists whenever it rains.
Arrangements are being made to install a telematic state of-the-art digital system with gates at the entrance and exit to the gorge that will close when the water reaches a certain height considered to be dangerous. It will also send telematic messages to LED signs installed at vantage points that the Gorge is closed.
This new system will eliminate the archaic arrangement which sometimes advises motorists days after a flooding that the gorge is impassable.
