The National Works Agency is advising motorists that intersections across the island where traffic signals are still out of service should be treated as all way stops, while the Agency continues to undertake repairs.

The NWA has reactivated the majority of the thirty five traffic signals in the Corporate area that were damaged during the passage of Hurricane Gustav.

Manager of Communications and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw, says five signals are still out of service, three in the Kingston Metropolitan Region, located at the intersections of Hope Road/Parish Close, Old Hope Road and the entrance/exit to Mona Preparatory School and at Washington Boulevard and Savannah Road. The other two signals are located at Ward Avenue in Mandeville, Manchester and Santa Cruz in St. Elizabeth.

He says the NWA is in the process of securing parts to complete the restoration of these signals.

Mr. Shaw is advising motorists to exercise caution when using these intersections.
