Road Closure on Barry Street for Emergency Drainage Improvement Works

The National Works Agency (NWA) will be carrying out emergency drainage improvement works along Barry Street in the vicinity of the Supreme Court in Kingston commencing Saturday November 27. Given the nature of the works, the road will be closed for the projected 10-day duration of the project.

Manager, Communication and Customer Service at the NWA Stephen Shaw, says the works will include the removal and construction of two gratings that span the entire road at the intersection of Barry Street and Temple Lane.

The gratings which have been in a state of disrepair for some time will be restored at a cost of just over $4.5 million. The completion of the improvement works will ease traffic constraints as well as enhance safety and access for road users along the thoroughfare.
