Section of Howard Cooke Boulevard to be closed

The National Works Agency will be closing the Eastbound carriage way of Howard Cooke Boulevard this weekend, in order to carryout emergency repairs on one of the bridges on the roadway.                                 .

The roadway will be closed at the Catherine Hall intersection, near the Montego Bay Entertainment Complex, in order for repairs to carried out on the Montego River Bridge.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says the repair work will be carried out on an Expansion Joint that become loose and poses a danger to motorists.
He says the roadway will be closed at 10:00 on Saturday morning and should reopen by 5:00 pm on Sunday.

During the period of closure, the Westbound lane along Howard Cooke Boulevard, between the Catherine Hall intersection and Bevin Avenue will be used for both easterly and westerly traffic flow.

Motorists are therefore being advised to proceed with caution and obey the flag persons and posted warning signs.
