The main road from Spur Tree to Greenvale, Manchester will be partially closed on Sunday, November 24, 2025. Traffic will be curtailed along the corridor in order to facilitate pavement repairs by a contractor working on behalf of the National Works Agency (NWA).
Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that sections of the corridor will be milled in order to facilitate repaving. The work comes as part of the government’s multibillion dollar response to the poor state of some roads, resulting from weeks of heavy rains, since the passage of Hurricane Beryl in July.
Mr. Shaw says similar works are also slated to take place along the Gutters main road in St. Elizabeth.
The NWA is now working across multiple parishes as it seeks to arrest the deteriorating condition of the main road network.
Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution, obey posted warning signs and the instructions of flag-persons.
