The National Works Agency will be closing a section of the Bamboo – Worthy Park Main road, in St. Catherine, tomorrow (Friday, July 6) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for emergency repairs.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says the road will be closed at Water Mount, which is located between the communities of Back Pasture and Point Hill, in order to facilitate the replacement of damaged culvert pipes in the area.

He says the culverts are being replaced as part of the agency’s drive to mitigate the impact of flooding in community. Motorists traveling from Point Hill are being asked to use the alternative route through Mendez and Barry. For Motorists traveling from Barry, the reverse obtains.

The NWA is advising motorists to observe the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs in the area.
