The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the Claremont Park to Malvern Well main road, St. Elizabeth, in the vicinity of Bigwoods will be closed this Saturday, October 09, 2010, between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Closure of the roadway is to facilitate the clearing of the Box Culvert, located at Bigwoods and land slippages that were deposited along the corridor during flood rains associated with Tropical Storm Nicole.
The alternative route for motorists travelling from Pedro Cross towards Black River is, Mountainside, Ridge Pen, Watchwell onto Black River, Motorists travelling from Mountainside towards Bidwoods should use the alternative route, Ridge Pen, Watchwell onto Bigwoods. The reverse obtains for motorists travelling from the direction of Bigwoods towards Mountainside or from the direction of Black River towards Pedro Cross.
The NWA is also advising motorists to obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs while work is in progress.
