Temporary Closure of the Grantham to Trout Hall

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the Grantham to Trout Hall main road in Clarendon, will be closed temporarily, from 8:00 a.m. this Friday, September 18, to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 19. The roadway will be closed in the vicinity of the Trout Hall Coffee Factory.

Closure is to facilitate the backfilling of a Gabion Retaining wall that has been constructed for the reinstatement of the roadway. The roadway which had broken away following heavy rains is being reinstated through a 29 million dollar contract.

The alternative route during the period of closure travelling from the direction of Frankfield towards May Pen or Chapleton is, Green River Bridge, James Hill, Trout Hall then onto Chapleton or May Pen. The reverse obtains for motorists travelling from the direction of May Pen or Chapleton towards Frankfield.

Motorists are advised to obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs.
