The National Works Agency will be closing two roadways in St. Catherine and St. Mary this Sunday to continue improvement work. On Sunday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm, the Mount Rosser main road in St. Catherine will be closed to vehicular traffic. The roadway from Ocho Rios in St. Ann to Oracabessa in St. Mary in the vicinity of the Golden Seas Hotel will also be closed.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says the Mount Rosser main road is being closed in order to improve the safety features along that corridor. Raised Pavement Markers (Reflectors) will be laid along the center of the roadway.

As a result of the closure, motorists traveling towards Ewarton from the direction of Moneague are being asked to use the alternative route through Grierfield, Camperdown, Tydixton, Worthy Park, and Ewarton. The reverse obtains for those persons wishing to travel from the direction of Ewarton.

In the meantime, Mr. Shaw says the roadway in the vicinity of the Golden Seas Resort in Gibralter, St. Mary will be closed intermittently to allow the contractors working on Segment Three of the North-coast Highway to remove a tree that poses a danger to motorists.

The NWA is advising motorists to observe the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs, when using the affected roadways.
