The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the Traffic Signals located at the intersection of Trafalgar and Holborn Roads, in New Kingston, are now out of service. This is as a result of a traffic accident which occurred on the weekend. All of the traffic control equipment was destroyed. This includes the cabinet components and timer. Damage is estimated at over four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000.00).

Officers from the National Works Agency’s Traffic Unit are now at the location working to put in place temporary controls which should be completed by tomorrow, Tuesday, November 25.

The National Works Agency is in the meantime advising motorists who use this roadway to proceed with caution during this period. The Agency is also reminding motorists that the intersection should be used as a four-way stop until normalcy is restored.
