Work on the Yallahs bridge continues with a number of steel piles already planted. Contractor E Pihl and Sons is constructing the $402.7-million bridge, a cost to be shared by the governments of Jamaica and the United Kingdom. The new bridge — 157 metres long and 13 metres wide — is to be built over a period of 14 months and will have a minimum life-span of 70 years, according to the engineering team working on the project.
