Liguanea Avenue in Kingston will be closed for a period of seven (7) days commencing at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The closure will affect the section of the roadway between Liguanea Terrace and Paddington Terrace and is to facilitate the ongoing rehabilitation project that commenced earlier this year. The roadway is scheduled to reopen at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency (NWA), Stephen Shaw says that the roadway is being reconstructed as part of the Shared Prosperity Through Accelerated Improvement to Our Road Network (SPARK) Programme. He says the targeted roadway is being rehabilitated in sections to minimise impact on the commuting public.

Mr. Shaw says that during the period of closure, access to the area under construction will be limited to residents only. He says that traffic management personnel and appropriate signage will be in place to safely guide motorists and pedestrians through or around the work zone.

The alternative route for motorists travelling from the direction of Barbican Road is Paddington Terrace. Motorists travelling from Hope Road are being advised to use Liguanea Avenue.

The NWA further advises motorists to exercise caution while using the roadway during the period of the works and observe the instructions of flag persons and posted signs.
