Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
•     BSc. Degree in Civil Engineering 
•     A minimum of three (3) years Post Graduate experience in
      Civil Engineering with knowledge of design of bridges,
      retaining structures, and other Civil Engineering Structures
      and/or three (3) years’ experience in Civil Engineering works
      (especially Road Construction).

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
•     Highly developed skills in engineering designs
•     Highly developed project Planning and Management skills
•     Contract Management Skills
•     Competence in industry computer applications
•     Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written
      forms
•    Ability to work well as part of a team

REPORTS TO:   Senior Engineer

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
•     Inspect the conditions of existing bridges, buildings and        other structures
•     Execute designs
•     Check and correct plans and drafting standards
•     Assist in the review of work done by consultants
•     Conduct site visits for the setting up programmes and
      construction monitoring
•     Retain and contain structures as part of their maintenance
•     Prepare basic structural designs, working drawings and        specifications
•     Supervise construction of all such structures under the NWA
•     Attend meetings as statutory obligations with other
      government agencies
